Tamil political parties today commenced singing their nomination papers at respective District Returning Officers for the upcoming local government elections.
Main Tamil political party - Ilankai Thamil Arasu Katchchi (ITAK) and others handed in nomination papers at Election Department offices at District Secretariats.
Most of the Tamil political parties contest the polls separately but expressed willingness to form alliances with other parties after the polls in order to form the council administration while reaching the necessary majority numbers.
