Mannar farmers urged the government to consider terminating their agrarian loans after the recent cyclonic weather conditions destroyed at least 7,600 hectares of paddy land in the district.
According to the Agrarian Services Department in Mannar, 7603 hectares of cultivated land in the district were destroyed due to the recent bad cyclonic weather that prevailed over a week in the region.
Out of the total cultivated land area of 11,776 hectares, only 4173 Ha of land is left without any severe damage in the district.
