Mullaithivu based independent journalist summoned by Mankulam police

Police summon that was served to the residence of journalist S. Thavaseelan yesterday. 

Mullaithivu based independent journalist S. Thavaseelan has been summoned before the Mankulam police station today without specifying for the reasons by police.

The police officials who served the summon to his family yesterday did not inform the reasons for summoning Mr Thavaseelan to appear at the HQI office located in Mankulam. 

Mr Thavaseelan was also served with similar summons in the past for his reporting on protests of enforced disappearances, environment, and social issues as well. (Northeastern Monitor/ August 9/2024)
